Ericka had the rare experience of growing up as a triplet and, as part of a research project that accompanies her MA project, she has explored the idea of collective memory. She asked her siblings and her mother to participant in interviews, where they were shown the fabrics or items of clothing and asked to provide a written response for each one, considering any memories, places, people, or emotions they elicited. Extracts from these responses appear throughout the fabric book. She also carries out additional interviews as part of an ongoing research project investigating emotional connections to textiles and fabric.
